My I140 was filed last week by my employer's attorney company in regular processing.
Can you please let me know how long will it normally take to get a case number ?

Your wait really starts when you gets your I140 approved. After that you can do all is to wait for 8/9/10/11 dates every month to watch the visa bulletins [:(]

The Technology section of the New York Times (http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/googles-immigration-fixer/?partner=rss&emc=rss) this week ran an article about an employee at Google whose job it is to "fix" problems Google employees have with the immigration system. The article is interesting, but what is really striking is the tone of the comments to the online article. There is a display of real anger at Google's hiring of foreign workers in this time of economic hardship - when so many U.S. citizens are looking for work. Read the article. What's your opinion?

I am in the process of applying for the green card but as the labor department was delayed to send the paperwork by status became out of status, my lawyer suggested me to go back to my country apply for H1B visa and come back. That is why I want to apply for H1B visa . My lawyer tells me that there is no way I can get an approval if my company doesnt show tax return documents for the last 2 years. Is it true or there is another way or documentation which could be used in order to apply for the visa? My boss doesnt want to show the tax returns but accepts to show a bank account and different type of paperwork such as franchise agreements or certificates.
Can you please let me know if my lawyer suggests me the righ way if not which woudl be the best way to continue my green card process and get a result as soon as possible.

Hi,
Is it true that the old (i.e., July 1st - July 29th) filing fees still apply through July 27th - August 17th? The new fees (which would have been applicable from July 30th) will now be applicable from August 18th, right?
Is this true for I-485, I-765 and I-131 forms?

Guys I missed the conference call , But interested to know what happened &
if some key decisions made.
Called IV, But the person who answered was busy answering similar questions from other member.We don't want to waste precious time of IV leaders by calling indvidualy.
If someone who attended can summarize for the benifit of those who missed, It would be great.
Also does members of other nationalities(non Indians) also attended the conference call.. Hopefully IV is striving to become voice of all EB GC aspirants. Everyone will gain from joint effort and IV will have resources to do meaningful things.

I have both, but Cinema is seems easier. But 3d max as the ability to have better materials. Well who knows, I guess I should really start learning 3D, it's just that it's soooo hard.

How do I post to the monthly contest and keep the pictures in my albums? If I copy the images it posts them again in the "today's photos". Is there a way to post to just your album without them going to "today's photos"?

The time spent in H4 does NOT count towards the 6 year H1 time. So in your case the H1 clock starts from Sep 2004.

On November 27, the USCIS announced that they had received 58,900 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap. So there are 6,100 numbers remaining, correct? (Update: By December 4, the USCIS had received 61,100 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap.) Not exactly. We have Free Trade Agreements with both Singapore and Chile which set aside 6,800 "H-1B1" numbers for nationals of those countries. Do the math: 65,000 minus 6,800 equals 58,200.
