Ok, Lots of people have been telling good ideas.....Here is one more.
As part of our campaign on these legislations (HR 5882, HR 5921 & HR 6039 ), I wrote to my congressman. Afte sometime I got a reply and I was suprised that he had personally signed it. I know many IV members have contacted their congressman/Senators and they might have got a reply back.
My idea is that we should all mail the responses we got from our law makers to IV core. They can collect these letters, highlight the positive responses the lawmakers have said and send them to the chairman of "Judiciary" committee. This way IV can raise its stature and be know as a organisation for Legal Immigrants who are doing the right thing by contacting the law makers.

Hi,
My labour and I40 are approved and PD is 12/07 for EB2.
My H1B 6th year expires on 10/10
I am thinking of changing companies. The job will be the same.
My questions are:
1) Can I use labour or approved I140 from old company to new company since the job will be the same or does the new company have to go through the entire labour and I140 process again.
2) Since I am already at the end of my fourth year of H1B, is there enough time for the new company to apply for labour and I140 since I believe the GC process should start by beginning of 5th year for H1B extension.
3) Can I use the old company PD for the new labour and I140 or will the PD be new as well.

in order to get the animation to 'stick' you have to toggle that button that says "animate" on the top of the screen. The reason they do it that way is this. If you've already set up an animation, but then find that you need to change something in the basic structure of the item, you can turn off that toggle, edit the item and have it not effect the animation that you set up.

My husband's labor was filed in the end of June, no response yet. It was much faster for me in 2006. I would also like to know if anyone got a response.

I think there was a change in the rules for re-entry permits - you have to submit for biometrics before you leave the U.S. - so the auntie may not be able to apply for re-entry permit if she is outside the U.S.

Well need some help. I moved from H1-B to F1 visa to do masters. Now I want to quit F1 in middle and go back to doing H1-B and continue masters part time.
I know there are still slots open for H1-B for 2010. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Now I can do summer internship untill August 26, the question is, how can I work for the employer for the month of September? since H1B starts on Oct 1st. I can do CPT full time but, then again I heard you can not quit CPT in middle of the semester.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

There are 2 pre approved labors with my company.
1. EB3 PD-April 2003 System Analyst/Programmer Analyst Degree:B.E.
2. EB2 PD-May 2000 Project Manager/Senior Architect/Team Lead Degree: Masters in CS prior to 2K
American co., no need to pay for labor. Should come with a project with a corp to corp option. Co. has clients but it may take time as July 16th is last date.

This report is about low skilled workers. IV (I think) is about addressing the EB immigration, which is mostly about highly skilled workers. So I don't see how this applies here...

11) I have filed my 485 and 140 concurrently in august EB2 category from my current employer. The priority date of my labor is nov-2006.
Please provide me your guidance can i use my approved 140 PD (may-2003) in my filled 485.

This is a huge deal and immigration laws in dozens of states could be deemed to violate the Constitution. Arizona's 2007 law allows the state to revoke a company's business license if it is found to have employed illegally present immigrants and mandates all employers in the state use E-Verify. Employment based I485 is pending and priority date is not current, and wont be current until we have cars that fly. Have valid advance parole from EB I485. Plan to file a family based I485 next month and wait for receipt notice and then travel out of country.
Is it possible to return to US on the advance parole from EB I485 after filing FB I485? (Application for a second advance parole based on for the FB I485 will be pending as it takes ~3 months to process AP).

Can anyone suggest if there is a way to check the priority date on a I-485 application after an interfile request has been made? I am not sure if a call to the Service Center is the only way, or if there is a form I can submit requesting this information.
The context of my question is this: My original I-485 application was filed based on a LC/I-140 approved by PERM with PD May 2005. But later, as part of backlog elimination, an older LC for me with PD Aug 2004 was cleared and my company's immigration law firm got another I-140 approved based on this earlier LC. They've told me that they contacted USCIS with a request to get my I-485 attached to the older PD. I would like to get this confirmed since a 9 month gap in PDs can easily translate to years more of waiting time.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out or suggest if I should be doing anything different with getting the PD of my I-485 changed.
