The country's best known Hispanic GOP politician, Florida Senator Mel Martinez, announced this morning that he would not be returning to the Senate after the August recess ends. Martinez had already announced he was retiring in 2010 and it is not clear why he accelerated his departure. Martinez has been a consistently pro-immigration voice and he has criticized his party numerous times for alienating Hispanic voters. Hi I'm a US citizen and have around 15k or less credit card debt. All government loans were paid off. Something happened three and a half years ago in my home town and I had to leave Washington state and took care of it. So my question is: it's has been 3 and a half year and I'm heading back to washington state for short visit.
1. I'm sure the debt did gall into collection agency. Will it go to court?
2. Since I had been gone since 2007 and will there be a warrant on me since I didn't appear to court (if there was one)
3. I will be entering Vancouver bc airport then to Seattle by driving. I'm afraid I will get caught for warrant at the border.
Hopefully someone can answer my questions and thanks for the help in advance.

HI..
My grand father and grand mother are trying to apply for visitor visa.. my grand father is a retired govt employee and grand mom is home maker.. my grandfather is coming on their own and we are not sponsoring them..he will be able to submit tax returns as he runs small business and owns 1 apartment and few lands my questions are:
1.what are the documents should he take for visa ?
2.how much of bank balance? (they say 6 months of bank statements is necessary)
3.cant he just say he's retired and take the asset evaluation and bank statements alone?
please help ...

Now that all are current, and we know the many benefits of an EAD ( primary being spousal employment) what exactly are the no-nos to apply for 485?
1. Even if you want to change jobs after 6 months, you gotta stick to the same position in the new company?
2. Any restrictions on travel?
3. Yearly EAD renewal can be a headache?
Any more?
P.S: Guys, I am as elated as any of you but just wanted some perspective before pushing my employer.

Has anyone traveled to India by Virgin Atlantic connecting to Jet Airways at London ?
The ticket is from Virgin Atlantic (through ticket, Jet is their Code Share) .
For baggage rules, Virgin website says --
"Any passengers travelling from India to the USA, (and vice-versa), with Virgin Atlantic for their entire journey, which involves a connecting flight via London Heathrow, will be entitled to an additional bag up to 23kg ."
I sent them an email before ticketing and they replied I am entitled to two piece.
When I contacted them after ticketing , they say I am entitled to one piece. Logic was London - Mumbai is by Jet Airways (but my argument is the ticket shows VS flight number).
Does any one have any experience ?
