I have asked a few of my friends to call the list too. And I did another round of calling Tier 1 republicans only. It was pretty much the same response as the last time. I think that is their standard way of answering, - to sit on the fence.
Unless these issues are being discussed and called to vote, they will pander to whoever is talking. But, I think we still need to put continued pressure on them, hence the friends :)

My application was filed under PERM EB2 on May 12th and it got approved on Sep 2nd. Filed I-140 under premium processing yesterday. My attorney has requested earlier priority date (June 2003, EB3) while filing EB2 I-140. He said, once I-140 is approved and priority date porting is done, I-485 may be approved automatically. If not approved for a period of time (say a month or so), interfiling may be requested.

I go to India atleast once every year and I agree that the urban infrastructure has changed a lot. But, such a change has created overcrowding in major cities which has lead to heavy pollution, rocketing inflation, high cost of living, and what not. You can get anything you want - best education, best food, best best best .... if you can afford.
During one of the trips couple of years back I did a casual interview at a huge software giant in Chennai just to guage how well I will fit. This was for a programming job in C++. Interview was rookie, intrerviewer was surprised why I want to come back because people actually seek such companies as route to US or UK and also made me feel that I may not be satisfied with the job if he has to offer.
So here is the thing. If you want to go back and lead a good life - I think it is a good idea provided you have very good education and experience and you get into the league of executives or you want to set up some booming business.
If you want to go back and work at a managerial level - you may not find things that interesting because of the affordibnility factor.
It is totally upto you to decide. If you look at urban infrastructure, India is developing, but in my opinion, the only way India can develop as a nation is by bringing about a change from the grassroots - change in beliefs, politics, innovations, products , hygene, uniform standards of living etc....

Interest rates have to come down to 6 - 7% level in India to make it affordable
Rupee has to depreciate further to make it attractive to transfer and invest

Wishful thinking aside - realistically speaking, it's zilch. As USCIS seems to have predicted, even with spillover implemented the PD isn't moving to 2006 any time soon.

It is everyone's understanding that these predictions are based on the information about "preadjudicated applications" from USCIS. Now if you look at the total number of preadjudicated applications from what USCIS has published, it seems that PD (for EB2 India) will move to at least to 2007 if not 2008 by the end of fiscal year 2010. There are no new 485 filings (except for EB1 and EB2 ROW) and unless there is a "HUGE" increase in these categories, there is no other way to explain the basis for these predictions.
Someone else mentioned in this thread about the large number of filings in 2005 due to PERM, but remember, this should already be accounted for in USCIS's preadjudicated numbers.
So either these DOS predictions are some form of scare technique, or too much conservative estimate (so as not to disappoint people) or there is a missing piece of information that we have no clue about.
In any case, I do not claim to be a "better predictor" than DOS; but reality is that all these are pedictions and we have to wait till July-Sept 2010 to find out the truth.
Hoping for the best....:)

The problem I see with Los Angeles is the high population of illegals. Any thing here looks like pro-illegal.
Doing the rally in other cities in Los Angeles County or Orange County is the media visibility that we can get.

Well ...well ..well.... All this opposition tells me that I am on the right track along with all the people who support this cause.
Infact, we had seen similar opposition when we spoke against labor substitution in 2004 on immigrationcom website.
But labor substitution was stopped and DOL is currently auditing/investigating so many who used it. If you used labor substitution, you mostly should find that your I-140 is not getting adjudicated these days.
Interfiling while being the same company is totally illegal. Its tantamounts to fabricating the job requirements or asking you HR to "create a job position".
I whole heartedly support all EB3s who were qualified for EB2 when they filed their EB3 and we will keep this clause in mind when preparing the lawsuit.
Rest.. good luck.. you might even get your I-140 (or GC) approved based on PD porting ... but we will make sure that you get investigated eventually and the "incorrect decision" overturned.

I do not know if USCIS is going with receipt date or any procedure. My Receipt date is June 27, 2007. Notice date is August 9, 2007. My case is not touched either till now.

I dont want another flurry of emails by explaining no-nonsense "conspiracy theory" behind all this (Hint - The day CIR failed , AILF came up with this 95%-98% truth in their websites and the day 2nd CIR resurrection attempt was being discussed is June 13th which is the July Bulletin release Date)
Our only option is to expose USCIS wrongdoings ( I mean all Kind of Wrongdoings ) via Media and at the end of the day show your GUTS to support AILA lawsuit by providing our real names etc... ( incase they need)

Them democrats, they will never help us. Because as per them "we are stealing jobs". We should really start something like the flower campaign to expose all these double talkers. I mean go and see the youtube video by Hillary about how she likes legal immigrants and all that BS. Now contrast that with her "Ney" vote for an amendment which would have helped the legal immigrant community to a great extent. In suport of the view they are totally chaotic: RIR here, priority date is in April 2002, 45-day letter was received & replied to in February 2005 (15+ months ago), heard nothing from them since then. Lawyer started process for 7th year extension.

I am EB3-India with PD of August 2003. I am anticipating at least another 2 years. Any forward movement in any category is good news to me.
Yeah I am EB3 India June 2003 too. Not sure when our turn will come, IF at all the way things are crawling here. Sometimes I really feel there is no justice to some of the IV members on here. I wonder which is worse, the corruption in India or the bureaucracy in the USA. Atleast in India, if I would have bribed the official, I would have had the documents by now.
